World of Warcraft® Tournament Slated for Intel® Extreme Masters Global Challenge – Dreamhack by Electronic Sports League.

Sponsor team of Intel, Blizzard and Dell partner to host $75,000 ESL global World of Warcraft showdown at Dreamhack Sweden.
Cologne, November 21st 2007 – Blizzard Entertainment®, Intel® Corporation, Dell Inc. and Turtle Entertainment announce the addition of an international World of Warcraft tournament to the Intel® Extreme Masters Global Challenge – Dreamhack by Electronic Sports League, taking place at one of the world's largest computer festivals "DreamHack" in Jönköping, Sweden November 29th and 30th. Eight of the world's finest World of Warcraft teams will compete for a total prize pool of $75,000 US-Dollars.

Originally slated for a now-canceled event, the World of Warcraft tournament was added to the international Intel® Extreme Masters Season II through collaboration between ESL, Intel, Blizzard and Dell. As a show of support for the World of Warcraft pro-gaming community, the sponsors collaborated to produce a new “Finals” event backed by a new prize package, and invited the eight top-ranked teams from previous tournaments to Sweden to compete for the “World’s Best” honor.

„We are excited to be working with Blizzard for this Intel® Extreme Masters Global Challenge at Dreamhack. Together we will host one of the most important World of Warcraft tournaments yet“, says Sebastian Weishaar, Director League Operations at Turtle Entertainment. „This is a great addition to the already spectacular Intel® Extreme Masters Season II.“

In addition to the World of Warcraft tournament at Dreamhack, co-sponsor Dell is supplying the entire Intel® Extreme Masters Season II with today’s latest PC technology, including Dell’s award-winning XPS 720 desktop and XPS M1730 notebook PC’s, powered by Intel® Core® 2 Extreme quad-core processors.

Select footage from the Dreamhack event will also be webcast on www.delllounge.com.
