Pandemic wins Grand Finals at WSVG Dallas WoW 3v3 Arena tournament. Day 4 opened with Insurrection pushing past Check Six in the Lower Bracket Finals to face off against MoB Turtle Force in the Consolation Finals. This was one of the first serious back and forth fights of the tournament as both teams lost and gained momentum from fight to fight. Insurrection played a Rogue/Warlock/Restoration Druid combination against Turtle Force's usual Rogue/Mage/Shadow Priest Damage and Crowd Control team setup. The Insurrection composition's strength became immediately apparent as the druid kept pace with the massive damage from the MoB team while keeping his teammates free of Crippling Poison with Druid Abolish Poisons. Zizek, Shadow Priest from the MoB Team, has been the target of continued community criticism for his reluctance to play a Holy specialized priests in many match ups. Regardless, today he was able to show some unexpected flexibility with his class, spending more time out of Shadow Form trying to stay alive and support his team. MoB Turtle Force is already at a slight disadvantage only running three classes. Can they afford to have limited knowledge of talent specializations within those classes? A Shadow Priest under fire makes a very limited offensive impact on the game, and his survivability is clearly weaker then that of a Holy Priest. Hopefully with more then a month between this event and the next, Turtle Force can take a time out to better flesh out their options with their classes that can run multiple talent specs. Pandemic suffered a flesh wound from Insurrection in the first round of the Grand Finals. Insurrection ran it's Mage/Warlock/Resto Druid team against Pandemic's Warrior/Priest/Paladin setup. Surprisingly, Insurrection was able to kill Noktyn through Sck and Kintt's heals using the heavy crowd control it's team can apply. Insurrection may have been warmed up from it's previous matches against Turtle Force, where Pandemic had not played since Day 3. Pandemic rallied after the first game to win a close second before switching to it's Rogue/Mage/Priest team for the remainder of the finals. While there were close calls in several rounds as Insurrection came close to killing Pandemic's Rogue Nitrana, the series handily went to Pandemic after the player substitutions. Insurrection felt discouraged after the finals, expressing that their play had been poor. Still, they leave Dallas as the only team to take a round on Pandemic. Event staff has rumored that the next event will take place in Toronto at the end of August. This will give many teams several weeks to make adjustments and prepare. Stay tuned for more in depth coverage as we look back at the event over the next few days. WSVG Dallas Grand Finals
