Does any good spy demos exist? I'm interested in watching some good pub demos or maybe even matches (no spy saving the cap plz =) ), thanks for letting me know if you got anything about what I might be looking for.
I'm not tryin to be America's Best Spy, I'm just looking for some entertainement and possibly some advanced spy techniques on the way. If my request isn't legitimate, at least tell me why =)
Proper spy-action is hard to come by. Forlorn's statement I'm assuming is proper use in a competitive environment where the opposition is not "retarded". Unforunately a good spy kill is typically the result of another team/person's incompetance. Than again Forlorn, instead of posting a useless statement like that, how about you show what you got? Are you an authority on what is "noob" and what is not "noob"?
a good spy usually will either go to take down the medic or sap the gun so your team can destroy it easilly when they are pushing on it, occasionally when you get the medic you can take down the person he is healing and then maybe get a nice pistol in on someone else, it's also useful in capping a last point when a team is pushing up and leaving a demo or medic/heavy there to guard it. other than that, killing 4-5 people in a row is pretty much playing pubs or a team with horrendous communication
How to spy: Disguise yourself as an friendly teammate. Walk with your team until you reach the other players, and play like a scout until then. That means shoot your revolver at enemies if a random guy charges you.
Are you afraid that you'll let the other team know that you are a spy? Big deal. Rule #1: Disguises are worthless for fooling people. They are just for sentry cover and 1 second protection (if you are disguised an friendly engie, others will be less tempted to shoot you over the nasty scout/soldier/demo shooting at them).
When you reach the enemy lines, cloak and go behind them. Then wait. Wait for your teammates to engage with their team. Then go for backstabs on ANYONE, doesn't have to be the medic, get kills and make yourself useful to the team. Chances are, if your team is any good, they will hold their attention for you to nail the one hit backstabs. Congrats you played spy well, because you killed a potentially dangerous class in a safe suicidal manner. That's right, spy is the suicide class.
Other points of interest: disguise as an enemy in this order, according to what they have: Engie, sniper, scout, demo. Don't try to blend in. Just uncloak behind them and wait for them to engage the others. If they don't have sentry guns it may not even be worth disguising.
I think of the spy as a gimped scout with sentry immunity. That's how I play him on pubs. The whole stealth thing is a gimmick. Run up to the front lines, engage with enemy players with your revolver, and then stealth behind enemy lines only when you have the opportunity. Otherwise play the spy just like a scout who is more effective at a distance (although the revolver really blows in terms of accuracy, so hope you get lucky).
If there is a sentry gun: It's always better to backstab the engie before you sap. However, if the engie is smart, and stands away from the gun so the spy can't backstab him (because backstabbing the engie will result in spy death from the turret once he unstealths), it's usually better to sap the gun and then try to kill the engie. If the engie is in a spot where he's next to the gun and his back is against a wall, wait for your team to move in while sapping it, so they can destroy the gun. While the gun is sapped it cannot be healed.
Congrats, you now know how to play the one dimensional class that is the spy. The problem with all the other demos linked here is that they show spies who multiple kills in a row against opponents who are not even occupied with fighting someone else. It is noob to be killed by a spy if you are not fighting someone else. You can avoid being backstabbed if you move around and turn around, so, as a spy against good opponents, one should do their part to the team to help kill when the other team is occupied. You will be much more successful. Also, going for random backstabs with no teammates around is generally stupid as well. Often times spies get kills on players who are so far away from the actual push that these players will be respawned before the real battles actually happen. As a result, spies are most effective when helping teams push on a cap point, or flag, or whatever.
And one last note. The spy is a hard counter to snipers, so if they have a good sniper who is raping you, just go spy, cloak, and kill him. You don't even have to backstab him. Just shoot him 3 times with your revolver, he won't stand a chance.
Man shadow, those are some awful players you backstab, and you aren't a very good spy. You keep stabbing after you hit them in the face; you shouldn't rely on the fact that facestabs are bugged to get you kills (like you do in the first 15 seconds of the vid).
I really enjoy that shot where you revolver'd a soldier shooting rockets at you, brought me a hearty laugh.
#12 Nice observation skills, Guides and "How to" with a bit of YouTube pubbing

I don't think you checked everything I putted in #10, but most of the time it's cloak / disguise / blind spot / backstab enemy #1 / cat and mouse game with enemy #2, trying to get in his blind spot then finishing him off.
The last step in imo why I would watch spy demos. You need to be cunning to stay alive, with the cloak you have left. Plus, you need to place adequatly to finish the job. I don't care you can cloak and run to the briefcase, or uncloak and sap just before your team uber, I want to see some quick wits and sharp minds, not the standards techniques you described so well with cynism.

here is everything I have for spies :
EvilDaedalus - How to Play the Spy on YouTube.
Omfgninja's channel on Youtube got plenty of spy footage as well
Zarcath's channel got awesome information on Same team disguise, plus beta footage (Spy's gameplay didn't really change so it's still enjoyable)
Finally, a great guide on spies : http://www.thefortress.ulmb.com/forum/sho..
I just hope I helped some spies out there.
HINT* - Kill medics :D
My job is boring, so why not.

That's a video of me playing spy in our last STA match on goldrush.
