At WSVG Dallas, spectators will see a pretty even skill level among competitors with several of the top Quake duelers attending the ESWC Finals. Johan "toxjq" QuickRecent Achievements: 2nd WSVG Louisville, 1st ESWC Sweden Qualifier If not for the recent loss to av3k at the WSVG Louisville tournament, Quick would still be considered the undisputed champ of Quake 4. He is back and this time, he will most likely come prepared. He’s had some time to work with the new patch and travel to the tournament isn’t a problem. Look for him to be on his best game. Magnus "fojji" OlsonRecent Achievements: 7th WSVG Louisville, 2nd ESWC Sweden Qualifier, 1st SNL Season 2 Finals Olson has had a very strong summer winning the SNL Season 2 Finals and taking second behind toxjq in the ESWC Sweden Qualifier. Though Olson had a strong showing at last week’s tournament, it wasn’t enough to get by toxjq in the Upper Bracket and a close game with cooller in the Lower Bracket ended his weekend. Look for fojji to have an even better tournament this time around. Alexey "Cypher" YanusheuskiRecent Achievements: 3rd WSVG Louisville, 5th i30 Multiplay The young quaker from Belarus has turned a lot of heads in the past. His distinctly European style of play and his extremely effective rail make him a heavy contender to win the event. Taking third in Louisville, he will be a major force to be reckoned with this time around. Chance “chance” LacinaRecent Achievements: 4th WSVG Louisville, 2nd Warfactory Lacina was one of the players recently picked up by Team EG, Chance took fouth place in last week’s event, finishing the best of any of the North American player. In addition, he has been looking consistently well for the past few months and doesn’t show any signs of letting up. At Dallas, you can expect him to finish well among the field. Tim “DaHanG” FogartyRecent Achievements: 5th WSVG Louisville Fogarty, another player that has recently joined Team EG, played an amazing tournament last week. His wins over world-class players like GaRpY and griffin have made him a major competitor in the pro-level of Quake, after making a name for himself on the TDM circuit with Black Dragons. Look for him to place well at Dallas if he plays as well as he did in Louisville. Rafik “Lost-Cauze” BryantRecent Achievements: 9-12th WSVG Louisville, 1st Warfactory After winning the Warfactory tournament earlier this summer, Lost-Cauze’s WSVG Louisville tournament was ended a bit early when he was knocked in the Lower Bracket in the first round and continued to struggle until his run was ended by GaRpY in the third round. Can Bryant break out of his slump and return to his status as of the top players in North America? We’ll see this weekend. Aaron-Anton "HELL" JonesRecent Achievements: 2nd ESWC UK Qualifier, 7th/8th Multiplay I30 Last time we saw HELL was at the UK ESWC Qualifier where, due to travel conflicts, was only able to play one of the two sets in the Finals against Dignitas-teammate, GaRpY. Jones is a very strong opponent, no doubt about it, but it'll be interesting to see how he competes with the rest of the field. Could he become a underdog for the event? |
