Quake: IceCamp Is Now In Session

By: Joe Szymkowicz - Published June 14, 2007 at 9:25 PM EDT - Writer Archive
A small pack of North America's top Quake 4 players have already started bootcamping at Dave "icel0re" Ritson's apartment in preparation for WSVG Louisville.
Shortly after Warfactory this past weekend, a small group of players consisting of Dave "X3O\icel0re" Ritson, Rafik "H20|Lost-Cauze" Bryant, Tim "`50|DaHanG" Fogerty, James "cK.ermac" Boyd and Tom "griffin" Wall traveled down to West Kentucky to icel0re's humble residence to start bootcamping for the upcoming LanWar event on June 21st. From speaking with icel0re, it sounds like the gathering has been a time to relax as well as a time for preparation. "There are plenty of matches each day and it's really been helping us get the feel of playing on LAN again" Ritson said.

According to some of the players, practice sessions have been medium to high intensity with some early upsets already. Other than practicing though, the players also find time to relax around the house. Between the daily movies, the delicious meals prepared by Ritson himself and the general goofing around with eachother, the atmosphere has stayed especially light.

Though these five have already started practicing, everyone is looking forward to the larger camp starting the 15th of June though, which will consist of 10 players and will take place 30 minutes outside Louisville. Gotfrag will have periodic updates from the bootcamp in the coming days, so be sure to check back soon.
