Alexey "Cypher" Yanusheuski looks to win back to back ASUS Cup Championships but will have to face the likes of Anton "Cooller" Singov and Zhibo "Jibo" Fan to get there. Quake III returns to the ASUS Cup after being left out of the 2006 Winter Cup. Alexey "Cypher" Yanusheuski comes in as the defending champion after defeating Nikita "Nike" Volgo handily in the finals, two maps to none (16-4; 15-1). Pavel "Enemy" Yakovlev rounded out the top three. However, this tournaments competition will have a couple of big name players with the likes of Anton "Cooller" Singov and Zhibo "Jibo" Fan. Fan placed second at CPL Winter 2006 after losing to Paul "czm" Nelson in the Grand Finals. Singov placed third overall after losing to Fan in the Consolation Final. The tournament will consist of one stage of group play followed by a regular single elimination bracket. Twenty competitors have been separated into four different groups of five. The top two ranked teams after the round robin stage will then be placed into the tournament bracket as follows.
