Str8 Rippin versus Team Phreaks


The Lower Bracket Finals of the MLG NYC 2005 Championships should be one of the most gripping and exhilarating matches of the day. Both teams came to the NYC event with one goal in mind, to match up and take down the unilaterally known champions, Team 3D. Though Str8 Rippin and Team Phreaks both have been destroying the opposition, this match up will be quite a challenge for both parties. When comparing these titans at this event the only way is to look at the margin of their wins. Team Phreaks has found little competition thus far in their matchups, while Str8 Rippin has had a few difficult games. On the other hand, at MLG Chicago, Team Phreaks left with a disappointing fourth place finish due to a loss against Str8 Rippin. While they were the only team at Chicago that beat Team 3D in any games at all, they were still unable to meet them again in the finals. Str8 Rippin now has a much more impressive lineup; however, their limited practice time with the new lineup raises the question of whether or not Str8 will be able to take down Team Phreaks this time around. It comes down to extreme teamwork and chemisty, and thus far through this tournament Team Phreaks has the upper hand.
