MYM Nations #2 is here! The different Nations are getting their teams ready for the chance to steal the crown away from Russia, who won the last MYM Nations.

The 'Behind the Team' series gives us insight on what the team leaders are thinking leading to the event. What goes through their minds when they pick their Nations players? How do they match up to other Nations? How they are practicing, leading up the the event?

There are already other 'Behind the Team' profiles out, make sure to check out America's and Canada's 'Behind the Team' profiles!

Denmark comes in the MYM Nations #2 expected to go far. After reaching the Championship of MYM Nations #1, coming from the winners bracket, they had to face off against the powerhouse of a Nation, Russia.

Though they ended up coming in 2nd in the tournament, it was a huge success in terms of the Denmark DotA scene. Denmark has since then re-grouped, and are ready to try to claim the gold medal.

Jacob "Maelk" Toft-Andersen, Denmark's team leader, answers questions in this interview regarding his team and his expectations coming in the new season of Prime Nations.

Maelk on MYM Prime Nations

When the first MYM Nations tournament came around, you were chosen as the Denmark Leader. Do you feel you were the right man for the task?

Given the alternatives and my past experience with teams as well as knowledge of the community, I feel the choice was obvious and would have been disappointed had anyone else been suggested. With the exception of MaNia although I know his force is actually playing the game rather than leading it.

Though Meet Your Makers is an international team, the team has 3 Denmark players. Do you feel you will show any biasness towards them throughout the tournament - meaning if they aren't the best three for the game, will you still use them?

Even though I trust everyone in our current lineup for the Danish National team to be the best for the team, I am also of the opinion that MaNia, slahser and myself is a given for the lineup. I don't think any of my players would argue with this. We have time and time again proven our worth and shall do so yet again!

Though reaching the playoffs by winning the winners bracket, Denmark fell to Russia two games in a row. Do you still regret losing this match? Do you feel you could have done better?

I feel we could have done better, definitely. But the skill gap between the teams were simply too big and that they had a complete roster of world class players really come to show in those two games. I don't regret anything and I am to this day more than pleased with the result we managed to get and proud of the guys.

Pusher-Street was seen in a MYM match not too long ago, and is on the Denmark roster. Has there ever been a relationship between Pusher-Street and MYM?

Yes, Pusher-Street is a close friend of all of us, especially MaNia, and has been substituting for us in scrims whenever needed for the past 6 months or so.

I believe it was Denmark in the last MYM Nations that introduced Nerubian Assassin to competitive DotA. Will we be seeing anything new from Denmark in this tournament?

I would love to introduce a new hero or two, but it is getting harder with the day and who can really say they 'invented' the use of any hero? There will always be players and teams disputing this. On this higher level of play though, I think its safe to say we might throw in a new hero or two.

Having to be the leader of MYM as well as Denmark must take time, do you feel you have a good balance between the two teams?

I think so, yes. It isn't my decision alone how much time the Danish team plays, all the players must show some dedication. MYM is still the team I prioritize the most.
