Lines across the screen!HELP

Hi guys,

First post :D. Anyway, sorry if this is in the wrong place but I am quite desperate!

Okay, so when I move and look around of DODS coloured lines go across. They really get in the way and sometimes big parts of the screen will get cut off by the lines and inside that gap it will just turn to the colour purple or green etc.

I cannot play.

Also when I shoot yellow lines flash around the screen (like hexagon shapes). Also smoke comes up as lots (and I mean lots) of white lines (which I can see through.

Anyone know a cure for my ill PC? :(

I have tried changing the resolution etc and updated my video driver (NVIDIA)

yeah I had the same problem, try one of these configs:

http://files.filefront.com/dods+beta+conf..

there's a low, medium, high, and very high graphics config

all you have to do is pick one, rename it autoexec, and place it in ur cfg folder

and yeah, it also fixed the wireframe sprites and stuff as you described

I used the low config and did what you said and I'm still having this same problem.

Whats my cfg folder and how do I get to it???

damn I'm not sure what else to say, since it fixed it for me. but #11, your cfg folder is in your dod folder

type net_graph 0 in console ... to access console press ~

he's not talking about that #13... he's talking about a common glitch that a lot of people have been getting

Hey umm I am Having the same problem with #15 I also have a flashing light going across the screen its driving me nuts I can't even play a good game because of the flashing colored light going across the screen and when I open a box With Esc the boxes go invisible but the words are visible ... I even tryed reload Day of defeat about 10 times already and still the same stupid lights.... Also when I through a Garnade and explodes it makes like lines and shapes going around it same with smoke garnades it makes many lines...

change your direct x level to higher, it happened to me when i tried to play at anything less than 81

Well I was at the Option of the Day of defeat and went to video and click advance but the thing is it wont let me change the Hardware level... Direct X level..... its only at 7.0..... Even though my pc has Direct X version 9.0 and software level is Direct version 9.0

right click on your day of defeat source in your games menu ---> properties ---> set launch options

then type in there -dxlevel 81

and that should fix it

Hey umm It did change it but The thing is Every time I try to change brightness and Then Apply it just revert back to Dx version 7.0 And when I changed again To DX version 8.1 It work that it changed but it still has that line going across the screen again and Wont let me change my settings in options becuase if I do it reverts back to Dx version 7.0
