Happy Lizard Gaming’s Robert “sp0rk” Hull and Dumbledore’s Army’s Austin “Austizzle” Keller tackle the Week 3 fragfest on lennon_b2. FunBox Gaming vs. Penos Gaming
Austin: First of all, I think Penos is probably going to win main, that being said, the team they are playing isn't left with much chance at all. FunBox is another team from Brazil; however, do not get them confused with the Invite team, nPg. They just simply cannot compare, I have played them all myself and do not think they have much of a chance vs. Penos at all. The well will be dominated by the rifles of Penos, who I assume out of the many rifles they have will be Bewton and Bobson, both who are very skilled, while long and apts should be seeing the same pattern. The only disadvantage for penos right now is that they are in between players, the only one who I know for sure is heavying is Wehman, and I'm also thinking that Joel Edmunds will be sniping long. I've never seen zoltan heavy, but he can rifle like a champ, so I could see him third rifling long, or maybe even going well in exchange for Bobson. Regardless, FunBox isn't anything for Penos to worry about, even while Penos goes through these hard times, all they have to do is get a random heavy to go apts and they will be good to go.
Penos > FunBox 300-125
Players to watch - Just about all of Penos, not too sure about FunBox, but lag shots are entertaining!
Robert: Well FunBox’s two wins have come against a remix that recently was on poizoned’s shoulders and Amor due to and ACS ban, so we’ll have to see how they do against an extremely talented and active Penos team. I scrimmed penos the other night and zoltan came in at half and went completely nuts, but that was with a kar and he’s listed as a stoss here but you can be assured bewton isn’t an easier person by far. I’m not sure who’s sniping for Penos since they lost Justin to dpk, but I know they have picked up Joel Edmunds on heavy, so that should throw a rather large wrench into FB’s apartment play. We’ll see how this plays out, but I think Penos takes this one home.

Players to watch: Bewton, joel edmunds, zoltan
Donkey PunchN Krew vs. Total Annihilation
Austin: Like all of the other matches so far, Mensen just simply cannot carry TA to a victory. This week will be even worse, when they have to play one of the most online teams around, the infamous dpk. Poizoned will be cheating well, along with pork, who I may note is one of the legit players on this team. Mensen will maybe make well somewhat difficult for dpk, but in the end won't be able to do much being one of the only good players on TA. Long will be gooch sniping and styxx third rifling against Justin and netrolyxen, which will probably still be in dpk's favor. The heavy's for both teams have a huge skill gap, k4boom and stile will be way too much for chronic and corpsegrinder to handle. Overall this should be an easy win for dpk... Just watch out for disputes this time guys!
dpk > TA 375-80
Players to watch - Poizoned while he cheats, Justin cheating, K4boom cheating, Mensen.
Robert: I can assure dpk wants blood after last seasons CAL-open semifinals match, so TA had better be on the lookout. With a roster that couldn’t possible look better/more online (<3), poizoned will be dueling Mensen at well and what happens here will basically decide the match in my opinion. You can watch Justin de_story long, and stile lay down the poo poo in apts, but the only real fight is at well. Dpk takes home the revenge win.
Dpk > TA by 200
Players to watch: Mensen, poizoned, stile, Justin
Sweet, Hotwings & Beer vs. General Infantry
Austin: This is a match that would have the potential to be a very good match, but if e`man doesn't play for sweet, then things will be much less exciting. This match should be pretty fast paced, I can see Compton fragging hard and getting to the enemy spawn more than a few times, while the rest of GI holds their own against anyone that crosses them. The heavy battle will be fairly even, but I think sik will be the main factor in apartments, and should score high both halves. Long will be mostly be Russ against ponzi. I've never really heard much about Russ sniping, but if he still has some skill back from when he played, he shouldn't have too much trouble picking up the sniper and killing ponzi most of the time, while still having slaughter to back him up. Well will be very exciting, Compton will be unstoppable, and Tweak should be able to do fine against Reid and Bikeage, I'm expecting Reid to have some good streaks at well, which may tilt some of the favor towards sweet. In the end, I do not think that sweet can pull of the win, and GI should walk away with a 2-1 record.
GI > sweet 250-175
Players to watch - Compton, sik, Reid.
Robert: As much as I love sweet, this isn’t really the team you want to end up playing on lennon. Russ should lock down long against ponzi who by no means is a bad player, he just really doesn’t have much of a chance getting shot at from apartments and behind him to deal thoroughly with GI’s long team. Will Blackwell is one of the smartest heavies I’ve heard play, and no matter whether it’s 1864 or not, toeknee will be hitting well hard, he just has to watch out for reid as he’ll be on kar followed closely by Bikeage. The battle(s) to watch here are whether stalin frags everyone from apts and whether GI can hold well.
GI > sweet by 80
Players to watch: reid, stalin, russ, sik
Good 4 Nothing vs. Flatout
Austin: There was once a Flatout that was good, and now there is this Flatout, occupied by a kid from source who does terrible in matches, and a former TPG admin who has a vendetta against cs players who are better than him. From my point of view, g4n seems to have a really solid roster now that they picked up bill and Derek. This will make things so much easier for g4n. Bill going apartments, Derek and Bromley going well, and Mex sniping long will be the key factors for g4n. Dekin may be sniping long for Flatout, but because this is a match, I expect him to drop 10-15 frags and 25-30 deaths per half, if not even less kills and more deaths. Flatout’s heavy's will have problems with bill, as long as he still has some game left in him, but it could still go either way. Long will be hard for Flatout to get, as long as till does his usual gay routine and camps for the entire match, while Mex picks the two opponents on long. Well should be more in favor of g4n, but it's still possible that Flatout’s rifles can get past and hold it for a while. This match should be very even for the most part, but because of g4n's pickups, I'll have to go with g4n by a small margin.
g4n > Flatout 200-175
Players to watch - shotgunbill, shotgunderek.
Robert: Player for player, g4n is a better team, period. Mex will beat rph8, sgderek will beat duality, sgbill will beat both Dustin and Justin without needing help from Brandon, and till is gay enough to kill Flatout 14 times.
G4n > Flatout by 120
Players to watch, the sg twins, Mex.
Skull Gaming vs. Did that Hurt?
Austin: Once again, Skull has reformed and graced us with their presence, but is it enough to take on dth? Both teams have some skilled players, but some of the older members on skull are what we would call washed up, however there is still skill left on this team, Chris brings some new skill to skull as an up and coming player who is getting better and better over time. Dth is coming off a hard loss after playing monster last week, and will hopefully be recovered by the time they play skull on match day. Despite the loss, dth still has a solid roster, and should be well off on all spots on the map. In apartments, it will be mostly a battle between grimace for skull, and Rastaman for dth, but I see Rastaman pulling through most of the time and taking the heavy's down. Well will be entertaining, with Chris trying to take down Danny and sharp, but I can still see dth being dominant in this area as well. Long will also usually be controlled by dth, with caffeine holding it down most of the time. This will be a good match, and I think dth will take this win in the end.
dth > Skull 275-200
Players to watch - Chris, Rastaman, Danny.
Robert: YEAH SKULL FOR IGL-U CHAMPS!!! I love my igl boyz, but dth is a very teamwork-oriented group of players, and the experience and skill level needed to compete in main is there too. Danny will provide enough trouble to keep Chris occupied at well, but the thing to watch for is whether blake cody will show up to rifle, because dth might find him to be a rather big surprise. And caff will find muhbad is probably the gayest sniper ever as much as I love him, and will sit in a spot and hold a flag for eternity, so he’ll need some backup. As for apts, skull’s throwdown and grimace are going to need excellent teamwork, communication, and probably some baiting to get done what they need to. Unfortunately, this is where I insert “Welcome to the pros kid”
Dth > skull 140
Players to watch: grizzlybear strong, chris, muhbad
Unforgivable vs. oldsKool
Austin: This match shouldn't be very close; I can't see unforgivable putting up much of a fight against osK. OsK has a really good lineup, and many euros on it, and you gotta love the euros. Zuq and Turtz should be the euro superstars for this match, with Chicago rifling by turtz's side, and Stu heavying apts with zuq. Long will be sniped by commando, and as per usual, commando will run up some pretty big numbers on the scoreboard and hold down long rather easily. I don't know much about unforgivable, just that on the roster sheet that I was given, they were all listed as rifles, so what guns they play during the match could be completely random. No matter what guns they play, I do not think in the end they can take on osK, and osK will walk away with the win.
osK > unforgivable 350-125
Players to watch - Almost all of osK, but really not sure about unforgivable.
Robert: osK will win by a lot, you really shouldn’t bother watching this match unless you enjoy total d0m1n4t10n.
OsK > unforgiveable by 160
Players to watch: turtz, commando
hoAx.gaming vs. Substandard
Austin: I have always though of substandard as a rather good team, but lately I think they may have just stopped trying. Hoax is all right, but if substandard would actually try, they would have no problem dealing them, however right now I really can't be sure. Ender will be dropping bombs as usual, which will make well hard for Dullumis and reflex, and scora backing ender up will make things hard for them as well. Goats and ThatsRight will take apartments easily if they try, Infil and vapes won't stand much of a chance. Long will be controlled by substandard's pujay and dispute, kevo sniping against them won't stand much of a chance. Like I said, substandard would be very good if they practiced and tried, but because they haven't been active, this match may be a bit closer than it would be normally. I still think that substandard can take the win if they develop some chemistry and try.
Substandard > Hoax 250-225
Players to watch - Ender, Reflex, ThatsRight.
Robert: I have no idea where this match is going because hoax is hoax and substandard only shows up on Thursdays. So that being said, it appears after playing today that infil has gotten a bit better, so substandard’s apt team shouldn’t take that area for granted, but at well Reflex is a god with a rifle in his hands, but he meets scora and ender, both rather talented players. Justin Ellis knows how much this pains me to say this.
Substandard > hoax by 100
Players to watch: Reflex, ender, scora
Happy Lizard Gaming vs. NihilisT
Austin: I don't know much about happy lizard, apart from the fact that it seems to be a hijacked version of monster with basically all new members on it. I do know Zonozaur is on the team, and that will help greatly against NihilisT. Apartments will probably be rather boring, seeing as how epoxy will never get off his stomach the entire match, leaving happy lizards heavys to either camp as well, or try to nade most of the time. Luckily scream is a beast, so we should see some good streaks from him in apartments, making them a bit more entertaining. Zonozaur will be going well, which will make it hard for teamowner and flame to cap and make a push. The long team of nihilist is all right, they should be able to control long for a good portion of the time no matter who goes there on happy lizards roster. Because I don't know much about happy lizard, I'd say that nihilist’s teamwork in the end should prevail, and they will win by a small amount.
Nihilist > Happy Lizard 225-200
Players to watch - Zonozaur, Scream.
