Omar "X-Spider" Martinez returns, after a brief hiatus, to give you his picks for CAL-O week 3!
CAL Open Season 17 - Week 3 Predictions - dod_harrington

High Precision > Merry Men (464 - 176)
Merry Men are one of few teams to try out DoD 1.3 regardless of the feuds between our community and DoD:S. Most of these guys come from DoD:S CAL-Invite teams Rebels and neXus. Additionally, some have played DoD 1.3 in the past, so this match will not be one that High Precision will walk away with easily.

On the other hand, High Precision is recovering from a tough loss against Monster Gaming. High Precision has a roster that has remained loyal to the game for the most part, and have been playing for a quite afew seasons now. With Harrington being a popular map, Merry Men will have a lot of practicing to do if they want to be able to give High Precision a run for their money.

I have played with, and against, royemo and know that he will have no problem holding the middle flag while mex provides rifle support. When dealing with long, faLX and ao will be having an easy time maintaing both second flags on lockdown. Over at the mountain side, we can expect JustiN-_^ and Coal to battle it out with the Merry heavies. While the rifles will have an easy time, I believe all the action in this match will be provided by both teams' heavies. In the end, I see High Precision overpowering Merry Men's defense, leading them to a well-earned win.

eXorder > TOPADORA DOD TEAM (327 - 246)
Topadora an Argentinian team trying to prove that, regardless of the ping difference, that they are still a contender to the middle-tier CAL-Open teams. Noteable players on this team are Pame and Baldo. Last week, they were able to defeat chatterbox, and are looking to win against another decent team: exOrder.

eXorder consists of a team led by Bish and CwH. All of these players have been around since almost the beginning of competitive DoD. Only six players on this roster, and I expect them to be very solid in this match against Topadora.

We can expect to see CwH and Tutte to go mountain house against the interping Argentinians. trey and Defunct should be able to hold out long against Pame's crew. Bish and Anthrax will have an interesting battle at the mid, as I don't see Topdadora's sniper contributing much at the middle cap area, except for hiding behind the double doors or stairs. Bish will be shaking off the dust from his leave from DoD and tearing it up the rifle at the middle area. I expect Bish and CwH to be the factors in leading eXorder to a 2-1 record this week.

syncLine > 187th Rakkasans -LRRP- (245-183)
Word on the street is that 187th Rakkasans has been becoming a respectable team. Although they have been scrimming more recently, especially at late hours, they still have a lot of team work to improve on. They were unable to defeat TA or {606th} during the first couple of weeks, so sYncLine will be no easy task.

Team sYncLine does not appear to have the same roster as last season, which was led by demeter. Regardless, it seems they still have a fairly solid lineup which will enjoy taking on the dod_dust-pubbing 187th clan.

The main battleground for this match should be at the middle flag area where sYn's bLairsM will be dueling it out against 187th's BulletSlinger. bLair has improved a lot with the sniper rifle, so this matchup should be fairly even. PeEk@bOo will be playing the mountain area in a pub style way, which will make sYn's heavies have an easy time at maintaining control of the mountain area. 187th's undies and rs_ will be providing support at the middle and long flag areas. White Knight and RiOT will be the ones to oppose the aforementioned rifles. sYncLine has better strategy and experience over 187th, which will result in sYn handing over another loss to 187th.
