The first week of the playoffs has come once again, and we are left to look at the upsets, blowouts, and the top players. For the first matches of playoffs, there were several people who stood out, but only Gordo “ Gdog ” Ramos caught my eye for this position. I caught up with Gordo to ask him some questions, trying to focus on DoD , and CPL.

Tell us a little bit about yourself, please, past clans, real life jobs, things like that.

Now [GIMP] has always been a pretty good clan, and done very well some seasons. What makes GIMP such a strong, and consistent team?

( GiMP -Gordo^_ ^[ cd ]^ bm ) Half of the team works together
( GiMP -Gordo^_ ^[ cd ]^ bm ) Heine , Disturbed, Crack
( GiMP -Gordo^_ ^[ cd ]^ bm ) We have GOOD team work
( GiMP -Gordo^_ ^[ cd ]^ bm ) Probably one of the best in DoD
( GiMP -Gordo^_ ^[ cd ]^ bm ) since we have been playing together for so long

Your last match on anzio , you took out a highly skilled pV team, that match was laster overturned due to phyre _ cheating; but needless to say, it's still quite a feat to beat a highly ranked team like pV . Do you think that the individual skill of your teammates won this match, or was it more that you practiced for the map, and had a great strat ?

( GiMP -Gordo^_ ^[ cd ]^ bm ) Well, I really think it was because we practiced so much, and also our great communication :)

You've had an undefeated season with GIMP, except that overturned match, and blown out several teams, some by 200 points, do you think that the teams that have awful records, and obviously don't have the skill to stay in a league with high competition should be moved down to CAL open, or should intermediate be reformed?

One of the things that have been hurting dod the past few post CPL seasons is lack of teams. We saw a boost of players, and new teams when CPL happened. Is this something that we're likely to see again, now that CPL is holding a BYOC DoD tournament? ( GiMP -Gordo^_ ^[ cd ]^ bm ) Hopefully after CPL these teams wont die, and we can have a CPL winter ( GiMP -Gordo^_ ^[ cd ]^ bm ) Maybe a offical tourney next time ( GiMP -Gordo^_ ^[ cd ]^ bm ) Hopefully top teams like, x6, hb , pandemic dont die after CPL :/

Playing rise^ next week looks to most people like a uneven match, people think that you will easily take them out, what are your thoughts on this match, are you going to be practicing hard, or just laying back, not stressing much over it?

( GiMP -Gordo^_ ^[ cd ]^ bm ) Well, imo I really think rise will put up a fight

( GiMP -Gordo^_ ^[ cd ]^ bm ) He will put up a good fight at middle.

If you beat rise, you're in the finals. While it isn't Invite or anything, it's still going to be a good match up. Do you think that careface -_- will take out pV ? What are your thoughts on the other semi-finals?

( GiMP -Gordo^_ ^[ cd ]^ bm ) Wedo will be all alone at mt house, and Buzzbe is amazing :)

When you think of what map the finals are usually played of, you're usually going to think of Harrington, or Anzio . Yet cal picked railroad2 for the finals map. Do you think that this is a bad choice?

( GiMP -Gordo^_ ^[ cd ]^ bm ) No, rr2 is not a bad choice. Railroad2 is one of the best maps out there and this map requires skill ^_^

GIMP is going to be attending Summer CPL, and you're going to be there along with them. How do you think GIMP is going to do against reformed top Invite teams like highball, pandemic, united5, and complexity?

( GiMP -Gordo^_ ^[ cd ]^ bm ) I think we will do fine, as long as I dont pull a Duality "HI SEAN :D". Our heavies are really good, Heineken- pete , so we should do well at cpl :D

Any word on your starting CPL roster?
