uhhh no Tim Sylvia is still one of the top 5 heavyweights in the world. It doesn't say anything about the competition in the UFC, it says something about how ridiculously dominant Fedor is. Tim sylvia still almost beat nogueira, and completely destroyed him for the whole fight until he got submitted.
Tim Sylvia is not a bad fighter, he's a boring fighter. Fedor is simply ridiculous. He's going to make anyone he steps into the ring with look like a terrible fighter. Fact is Tim is still top5.
If you look at him before and after fights, even if the fight goes the distance - he IS calm. That's what makes him deadly. He is always at his mental center which makes it impossible for him to become stress or paranoid about any situation, unlike most fighters.
Simple put Fedor IS the Iron Curtain.

simply amazing. this is a man that is truly at the top of his game and has been for quite some time. the only problem is that he doesn't get the chance to prove himself more often, which blows since he is exciting to watch. i give respect to anyone that even attempts to take on fedor in a ring. as jon said, tim is still a top 5 heavyweight in the world, yet fedor just destroyed him.

he's going to get plenty of opportunity to prove himself with affliction. He's contracted for 3 fights at least in the next 6 months. (including last night so 2 more) He'll probably fight Josh Barnett... MAYBE Arlovski, and then I think Randy's contract will probably be up and he will be the third fight some time around november.
I heard the problem with Couture's contract is that there is a 2-year cannot compete clause after it ends. So a possible November fight might be moved backed till that gets settled in court.

Almost every single fight on the affliction card was ten times better then the Silva vs Irvin match.
I'm so glad Andrei is back. He could seriously last ALOT longer then Sylvia against Fedor. The Barrnett fight was surprising to say the least.
Affliction wasn't hard to call though.
