Of the six that began, four teams are still alive in the CEVO-Professional playoffs. This means, of course, that only one remaining team will be excluded from a prize placing. Pandemic and Guardians have already secured a piece of the pie so the third and final money getter will be decided tonight when Frag Dominant match Evil Geniuses on mp_backlot. If we disregard rational argument for a moment and play a simple game with recent match history, the numbers tell a straightforward story. In round one on mp_strike, Frag`dom had their heads handed to them 13-9 by MoB Gaming. In the lower bracket round one, EG eliminated MoB from the tournament by a score of 13-6. One would therefore consider EG to be a favorite heading into this lower round two match-up. Of course, to call that argument logical would be fantasy, but it is still the sort of thing that rests in the back of the mind. Regardless, EG heads into this elimination match the favorite but they are not particularly fond of mp_backlot. They managed to sneak by with two 13-11 wins against below .500 teams during the regular season but EG are sure to have their hands full with Frag Dominant tonight. The winner tonight will advance to match Guardians on mp_crash Monday night in the lower bracket finals while Pandemic waits, alone, in the Grand Championship Finals.
